On one side there is the GNSS-TECH EMD Q12 Series - Electronic Map Display - and on the other side the GNSS-TECH PFD Q12 Series - Primary Flight Display - both utilising attitude and heading information from low-cost Attitude Heading and Reference System (AHRS).
In addition to giving the pilot the basic attitude of the aircraft, the new GNSS-TECH PFD Q12 Series includes the ability to be connected to the GNSS-TECH EMD Q12 system true our FDEX (Fiko Data Exchange) protocol and from there obtain GPS data, Terrain Information, Flight Planning, Navigational Information and more - all of this is in an extremely easy to read and understandable 6.4" VGA display format that is not at all overwhelming or confusing to the pilot.
The GNSS-TECH PFD Q12 Series represents a modern aviation age and therefore replaces the conventional attitude indicator, airspeed indicator, turn indicator, heading indicator and altitude indicator. It has an airspeed tape running vertically along the display's left side and an altimeter tape running along the right side.
Critical airspeeds, Best Angle of Climb (Vx), Best Rate of Climb (Vy), Dynamic Stall Speed (stall speed that considers the aircraft's attitudes, i.e. bank angle) and so forth are marked on the left-hand tape, using colour coding. A numerical indication of the airspeed appears in a black-framed window. Likewise, a numerical indication of altitude appears in a window on the right-hand tape, both with dark blue background.
The GNSS-TECH PFD Q12 Series display contains both GPS-based and Magnetic North compass and together with other navigational indications given by our Solid state gyroscopic AHRS - HORIZON 60, it gives what's required by modern aviation instruments.
The GNSS-TECH EMD Q12 Series are designed for Raster maps and includes Look Ahead Terrain warning, Flight Planning, Navigation Aid and databases, Aeronautical charts, Approach charts, Thumbnail Airport Preview with GPS locations, Vector Flight Plan overview and much more.
